The last day of 2006. better updated all pix b4 the year comes to an end.

Happy start of 2006. when me and dear are still slim-faced.

me & shan

me & dawn
shan & me @ some teenage mag theme cafe
me & family at gyu-kaku having a little pre new yr eve feast on 30 dec
ramen & some kimchi soup. aunt said the ramen is totally maggi mee in disguise but more ex and worse tasting. kimchi soup is freaking spicy and sour. me, pre haircut

me, post haircut

shall spare all from my usual long winded monotonous speech today and just some wise words.

always felt an unexplainable uneasy feeling whenever a year is coming to an end. what have i achieve so far now that it's just a day shy of another year? have i not done something b4 a brand new year begins? either way, it's too late to think about all these now hence i hereby gonna do the cliche by listing my New Year Resolutions:

1. lose weight!

2. stop lighting up.

3. stop boozing.. so much.

4. get a Real job.

5. have more discipline in all aspects of my life and transform into highly diligent individual.

will limited myself to these 5 for 2007 as they will take up all year.

May everybody make it a point too to live out the new year as a better person than they ever were!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007 YA ALL! ^_^

Best Wishes~

I'm Back!

i'm not dead, yet, in case anyone's wondering. just been a v good girl (and proud of it) fervently revising for my jlpt 2 during my non-blogging absence which finally ended on dec 3 (so there! dys! i've been busy, not lazy! no need to remind me about my whole month long of non-blogging! *upturned nose*). actually felt v lost after that bcoz all i did was studied daily so when the exam was finally over, i didn't know quite what to do, not having to study anymore. that feeling didn't last long. a day or 2 later, i was soon slacking full time and pretty quite enjoying all that free time. am selling accessories at my aunt's now and earning a bit of living. some updates on my wonderful life, 2 weeks prior to my exam.

nov 19, my kind shany treated me to a massage session! my 1st ever! but i knew it would be definitely be all heavenly and soothing hence i was so looking forward to it! the place was at mosque st. we had a couple room so we could be massaged together (different masseuses, obviously). but 1st we gotta fill up some lame form complete with personal particulars, whether we go to other spa for massages or facials or slimming and illness history. i was mildly surprised when i was not asked if i had committed any crime b4 and jailed for it (oops, not job interview form, silly me). so anyway after that we were brought to our room which were dimmly lighted for our later comfort, of coz. we were told to totally strip and wear this disposable panties provided. lovely. then we lie on our beds which has this hole in it for us to put our faces in when we get massaged. i jokingly told shany that they should put tv at the bottom of the beds so that customers can get to watch tv when they are massaged instead of the boring carpeted floor.

our session was scheduled was an hour. we got aromatherapish oil rubbed on our body while we were massaged. overall, it felt great. except, my masseuse was a bit of an 'death grip' lady. it actually hurt a little more than feeling relaxing when she got a tad too heavy handed. i could totally tell from the way that shany was not screaming out loud in agony that her masseuse was a better one than mine. this girl Cannot Take Pain. she is the type who 'ouch' out loud when getting her hair straighten out with a hair ironer during rebonding. i dunno anyone else who does that. so my point is, she has a way low threshold for pain. hence she must be really comfy w the massage. lucky her ;P

we were given nice green tea in pretty cups after our session. not surprisely, some lady sat us both in another room to discuss 'casually' if we would like to sign up for their spa packages. i thumbed thru their price menu and saw that an hour worth of massage actually cost a whopping $188. cutthroats. so naturally, we feigned slight interest at her proposal and promised to call back if we ever (no way in hell!) wanna sign up for anything. walked outta the place all massaged and relaxed (albeit Lady Death Grip's treatment) but uncomfortable with the stickiness on our bodies bcoz of the massage oil. off to orchard we go!

pix of shan then me snacking a little at this (can't rem shop's name) taiwanese food eating place.
shany and me taking pix of each other pretend eating. i truly believe that i am more talented than shan in this. see how my food is nearer to my mouth than shan's? furthermore, she is merely smiling and posing when i totally look open mouthed and ready to eat. imposter! *mad laughter*

in any case, enjoyable day ^_^

6 days b4 my exam, and what did i do? i treated myself to a jap meal at fiesta:

Lovely ^_^ i truly believe in tasting sweetiness b4 bitterness (totally against the traditional chinese teaching but nevertheless, it's my habit of rewarding before tolling). i helped myself to 2 whole plates of salmon sashimi though it cost me well over 10bucks for just 8 tiny slices of heaven (can buy a whole piece at supermarket for less but think of all the self-efforts of washing and cutting. freshness-wise, surely the restaurant is far superior?). in fact, i had already devoured an entire plate (see empty place on left) and was starting on the 2nd. teehee. even had salmon maki (i really love salmon) but couldn't finish. also had an order of fancy soda drink. shiok. see my stamp card on the bottom right corner? actually was also trying to accumulate chops at $20/stamp. hee hee hee..

fully satisified, it's time to go over to watsons (tot shany would be pleased that i did) to stock up on the essentials as i dun plan to leave home all the way till the big day. as usual, when i need to get gums, the pharmacist will never be at the desk. freaking nice. btw, why do they bother to sell gums only over the pharmacy bcoz when i did, all they do is to hand me a lousy book to record my particulars w/o needing to checking my IC or whatever at all. for all they know, i could have just written some rubbish fake details. it's a waste of time i tell u. but still, my breath needs its regular refreshing hence i tolerate this nonsense. man, i admire myself for my high threshold for crap.

also pop by ntuc to stock up on food, of coz. plenty of maggi mee and cans of campbell soup, lychee etc. i actually manage to carry all these stuffs and travel on the mrt. even manage to dabao kfc too! hee. see those books? my jap dictionaries and 5-yrs series practice. i mean business man..

was on a strawberry diet for a while. realised they could taste sweet and delicious if u buy the right ones. well, my diet lasted for about 2 days (my supply finished and i didn't wanna go out to buy more. i need to stay home till exam, rem?). *shrug*

then again, i did went out once, the day before my exam. for one, i am sick of eating self-prepared maggi mee and also bcoz, the night b4, i dreamt of 4 numbers so was tempted to go out and buy 4d as well. not surprisingly, the Q was long when i reached the betting outlet at 5.30pm on a sat evening. forced myself to join in and imagine my surprise when it was almost my turn, i then noticed a counter tucked away in a corner w no one in line. priority q for nets! holy shit! like that also can?!! i know golden village one priority Q for visa platinum members which i once had the privilege of buying from as my prestigious best fren owns a lovely card but priority Q for betting??!! no way! for a meagre 20cents extra, u could totally go there to place ur bets and simply pay with nets which almost everyone should have. bloody amazing.

>>> Female and male leads of Trick. Pretty & Handsome!

i have a new best fren. the name is youtube. the whole world must have long been loyal patrons of this holy website but i only recently gotten to experience its joy. it all started when i actually paid good money ($10.90/mth) to subscribe to mobtv (which i maximize by watching almost all waking moments). when my subscription ended, i almost unwillingly paid for another mth and that was when i somehow came into the sweet arms of free viewings of unlimited stuffs on youtube. hence i decided to watch jap dramas online w/o needing to pay a dime (to think i once actually PAID to buy 2nd hand jap drama shows on auction. foolish me). i had watched all 3 series of this super nice jap drama, Trick, on youtube. love it to bits! not to mention i sincerely believe my jap had increased by leaps and bounds merely through enjoyment of freebie shows. my life is completed.

Trick is a mystery drama, the kind i dig watching bcoz i never know who the killer is until the end (i prefer to think that i am a trusting loving girl who sincerely believes in the goodness of mankind hence it is a tedious task for me to suspect anyone). i get my kicks when thoughtfully planned schemes of murderers were thoroughly revealed by the detective characters (never mind the fact that the detective person is always presented in situations when murders take place and unrelated events give clues and ideas to how a murder was committed). shows are meant for entertaining purpose, for real life is too mundane and coincidences are rare and far apart.

>>> Examinees checking the boards for their room numbers. told u there were tons of them..

Finally, the day arrived. i didn't manage to sleep much the night b4 (as usual) bcoz like last yr, i was desperately trying to cram as much info into my fatigue mind as possible. mummy offered me a ride to the exam centre which is like in the middle of god forsaken land, changi north. the centre itself is actually a jap primary sch. so i can tell u, for that 3 hours or so of the exam, i sat on ridiculous tiny chair and used small low table. wee. i bet this totally couldn't affect my concentration. my neck ached like hell throughout for having to bend so low ok! and u know wat, my chair didn't have a backing when everyone else's did. perfect. do u know how many people take the jlpt yearly? thousands, ok? and each person pays a minimum of $20 for registeration fee. this amounts to truckloads of money. can the jap association be more kind to us by having the exam at a more centralised location with Real tables and chairs for adults>??!!!

also couldn't believe that i actually bumped in a sec sch classmate who was assigned to the same room as me out of the 20 or so and sitting right next to me! what are the chances?!! he happily tried conversing to me in jap but sorry, i am shy about speaking it. tadah~!

i was super drained after exam but i know going home is not an easy feat. for one, only 1 miserable bus serves the bus stop outside. rem i said how many pple are taking the exams? in my zombie-like state, i remembered walking for like half hour, hoping to get a cab when i'm far enuff from everyone or finally walked to civilisation where there are more buses. Naive. did u know where i eventually reached?i stood rooted to the spot for about 5 motionlessly minute b4 breaking out in a deranged laughter, fuelled by lack of sleep and usage of too much brain power for the past 3 hours. then, having to walk all the way here, dazed, only to find myself at a place like this. for a while, a voice in my head whispered to me to either

plan 1. throw myself onto the road and await the merciful ending of my life at the next oncoming vehicle, preferably a 4 tons speeding truck. another half hour in the middle of the road only saw an uncle riding leisurely past on bicycle with suspcious glares in my direction.

plan 2. climb over the fence of the prison, steathily travelling up to the serie killers' lock up compound in ninja style and offer myself to be sliced up.

hmmm.. too much work. never mind.

hence i gave up, crossed the road and awaited for the sole bus that travels this vicinity to the nearest mrt.

that was all 3weeks ago. i have since returned to my sane self and happy as a lark. many pix of gorgeous girls (meaning shany and me, dawny and me) to be updated on my next entry.

Happy Holidays to Everybody~! ^_____^"
