Walking Down Memory Lane: Haw Par Villa!

Was slacking last sunday. After a tiring week, it's always enjoyable to be sleeping endlessly on sunday. Weather was freaking hot these days. Bloody hell. Then suddenly rem dear can use his friend's van for the next 3 weeks so wtf, wanna take the chance to go out drive around! excited, i asked dear where can we go. i dunno why but i suddenly exclaimed 'where's haw par villa ah?!' Turns out it is at pasir panjang and nowadays they are having free entry so hell, let's go! Woo hoo!

Wee! Forced dear to make a cute expression. LoL ^_^" Polo tee courtesy of SAF. Heehee. Dear having reservist now so he say can take jiu take. Freebies! Now that's my darling!

Me relac-one-corner while dear drove.. Lalala~! Hmmm maybe take out cam to take sceneries pix?? Idea!

Blue Sky! Yeah.. once in a while when you look up the sky, it's actually pretty nice huh. I like the saying 'It's not about the destination. it's the journey'. We city pple are often rushing about all day long that we dun really appreciate nature stuffs like sky, flowers blah blah. But once you do take the time to appreciate them for a while, it's like, hey, why didn't i notice this beauty b4?

Blue Sky! Hey diff angle ok! haha okok i am a sucker for blue sky la. Those huge fluffy clouds floating peacefully up there.. nothing to worry, nowhere to rush to.. then when they get fat and heavy, they rain lo. then after evaporation, precipitation blah blah all those stages you learnt back in pri sch in water cycle, TaDaaH! become clouds again!
Actually got more blue sky pix but...nvm! haha. drove past this pte houses-lined road. Envy. Will pple like you and me ever afford to stay in such fancy houses? Seems like we are all destinied to live in hdb all our lives huh. nothing wrong with hdbs la but i'm sure it ever crossed your mind how izzit like to be staying at such places.. or ever condo with full facilities.. But I digress...

Holy shit! we are here! WaaAaaaAAaaa!!! Miss Suaku broke into a run like a 3-yr-old being released into a Toy 'R' Us. Shit! Shit! SHIT! Meomory lane!!!! Now, anyone my age with a decent childhood will be here at least once when they were kiddo. Back then, this place is really glam and all the gazillions of chinese statues they have will make kiddos bug-eyed and gobsmacked. I used to be 1 of those kiddos.

Attempted to conceal my little excitement by even taking time to examine the map outside. Yeah right, like i care. Gonna explore the bloody place anyhow i like. Who cares about the freaking map! Teehee!

Entry got this huge and tall impressive chinese-style gate. Like entering a palace like that. But dun be fool. The place is really in quite a ruined, as i realised after the trip. You'll see.

We paid like 5bucks for parking. Kns. The jolly uncle security guard, upon pocketing our 5bucks, urge us to go 1st touch the belly of this buddha on the left. Apparently, this will bring u prosperity (Read: $$$). In such situation, you must always believe and do according as told. Because, nobody would mind if i 'coincidentally' strike all 4D, toto and big sweep the following week. Show Me The Money!!!

Check this out! super ancient fancy car which belongs to the 2 brothers who own haw par villa, and if u dunno, tiger balm company as well (U tot the tigers in haw par villa and on tiger balm is a coincident meh..). And now, ladies and gentlemen, we are gonna proceed into... *gasp! hold breath* The Ten Courts of Hell! This place is like the highlight of haw par villa la. Rem the eerie boat ride u went on as kiddo into the dark and scary place? Yes.. that's the same place.. except now, i think they no fund to maintain the whole boatride thing so where it used to be the river is now filled up and becomes a walking path lo. Not visiting this place is like coming to Singapore and not go visit the Merlion.

Behold, Mortals! As we approached the entry, i was actually filled with giggles than fear, like the way i was when young. Adulthood really robs us of a lot of simple fun huh. Crap aside, let's go in!

Okok.. i made up all the tension to make you all excited... i didn't even take much pix inside ok.. sorry la but inside hor.. really dark and all lo.. bad lighting for pix taking. plus honestly, i dun feel quite comfy doing that. (so much for being all grown-up now and not afraid anymore). blame the fear instilled in me during my childhood visit here lo. Used to recall in fright about my visit here. Gory statues depicting all kinds of tortures the souls got punished for their sins when they are alive. Look at the description board and imagine yourself ok? Despise the blazing heat outside, the air in here is really chilly in comparison. izzit due to the lack of sunlight? Or... .... Anyway, cant resist but took this particular signboard. Check out the sins and the respective punishments. I can't help but zoom in on the gambling part. Great. Just freaking great. All those mahjongs sessions, harmless 4D buying.. i am gonna be frozen into blocks of ice in my afterlife now, together with, say.. 3.9millions of other singaporeans! Hahaha!

Took just one gory pix to quench your psychopath desire to see gore. This punishment, apparently, is for erm, being heartless or something when one was alive (pix of heart being dug out is self-explained). Got other gross stuffs like tongues kena cut out for lying, bodies smashed by boundaries, limbs being pulled apart blah blah. Use. Your. Imagination!

Dear is determined to point out that the punishment for food wasting is body sawn into 2. This is his punishment to me for forcing him eat all my leftovers when we eat out. He believes it is me who has robbed him of his male athlete figure and the now resultant less-than-taut body. He claimed that his average intake on every occasion of our meals is 1.5plates - 1 plates his, 1/2 mine. Awww... So all you figure-conscious ladies, treasure your slim body now. Bcoz it's gonna get saw into 1/2 when you reach hell. Same to those guys who watch porn! Hahaha!

My conclusion when we finally finished the tour. Heaven is empty, bcoz everyone will be in hell. The mere 2 pix i took of the punishments signboards, every1 is sure to find at least 1 'crime' that they are guilty of. At this rate, wtf is ever going to Heaven?!!! Nvm, let's check out more cheerful stuffs! Iko! (Ee-ko) (Jap for let's go!)

Ok, this is just plain.. weird... Apparently, this pix depicts filiety piety.. The story behind it: An aging mother-in-law who has lost all her teeth, hence the ability to eat, is in the danger of being starved to death. Hence the filial daughter-in-law, get this, breastfeed her, for the next 4 years until the old lady died of old age. In her dying bed, she expressed her graitude towards her daughter-in-law and bless that the latter will be equally well-treated by her kids in future. Hmmm.. I dunno what to say.......

Look! The signboards have got jap explanations! *triumph*. When i ask dear what does he think about in most places of interest, signboards usually have english, chinese and jap explanations but not others like korean or european languages?? He tot about it and solemnly replied, 'Im sure koreans read jap too.' -_-" Nevertheless, I secretly congrats myself for choosing to learn jap. Wahaha!

We came to this bridge and look what I saw! Tortoises! Or izzit grown-up terrapins?! Whatever.. but haha.. not that i am particularly fond of them but they are really cute. Guess they must be sheltering themselves from the bloody heat. And talking about heat, it was super-duper i-wanna-curse-and-swear hot lo! I ducked around a lot, which dear sarcastically ask me to go home instead. I can't help it if i get tanned easily but take the next 50yrs to regain fairness
ok! Grrr!

Next stop! Pondful of lotus!!! (Or water lily or whatever water plant..) Shit! I have never seen that many in my life! That's me grinning and arms widespread out like a moron ^_^" In case you are thinking i am at Botanic Gardens now, i wanna remind you once again that i am at Haw Par Villa ok?

Ahhh... Now that's more like it! This next pix got more i-m-at-haw-par-villa feel right? How many deities are there?? 1, 2, 3.. or 4? Heehee. I wanna be the Goddess of Beauty Deity! Pray to me! HeeHeeHee! Super Bhb! ^_^"""

Ahhh... Pix on right is more suitable for my image.. Me: Gimme the freaking coin, you damn frog! Frog: -_-"""

Self-entertained ourselves by posing dumb pix with the statues! (Bang! All my brain matters kena blown out!) Statues in HPV: -_-"""""""

Oh Master Tang!! Doreen wanna kissy too! *Pouty lips* Or a bite of your famous ever-lasting-beauty-giving flesh wouldn't hurt too! Dear ah, go get the BBQ pit, kuai dian!

Dear is inspired by my lusty move on Master Tang and proceeds to molest 1 of the 4 topless mermaids he found in a fake pond.

...He soon got bored of groping cold hard breasts and went on to tackle a huge crab. He insisted, he is the Lord of Crab (Crap, to me, heehee) bcoz he is a Cancerian. Bestow, Prince of Crab (Crap)! Your humble Fish servant bows to you, My Lordship!
This place is supposed to be 1 of the 1st swimming pool (yes, it was a swimming pool, not a pond) in Singapore. On my background should be an impressive made-man waterfall, long long ago... (Refer to the earlier mentioned lack-of-funds-to-upkeep-this-place reason). I mean, it was a sunday lo, but do you see anyone else in the pictures except we 2 self-entertaining idiots?? LoL. But got la, a few tourists here and there lo. We saw tour buses loadful of senior citizens. So sad huh. It used to be pretty hip and all when we were young but now it is just dilapidated and forgotten, giving way to the ever-popular Orchard Rd. Honestly, when you are at Orchard Rd 5 days/wk, I wouldn't wanna go Orchard Rd on my rest day!

There was only so much to see around here so next I suggested West Coast Park! Oh Yes! Why not when i am so in touch with my nature-self at the moment??!! Oh yes oh yes!!! Beach, sand, sun and sandcastle-buildings kiddo, here we come!

Right.. Ok let me explain... We DID arrive at WCP and i DID have every intention of running down the coast of the beach but when we reached, the weather was more than ever HOT and i dun see the freaking beach in sight! Then dear happily pointed out to a faraway place which i assumed must be Indonesia already. The beach seemed to be entiredly blocked off and maybe some reclaiming work is in progress! WTF! Aiya to hell with it la. I snapped the pix on the right of the cutest chihuahua I saw playing catch ball with its owner before I left. But see, I was at West Coast Park ok! So shaddap...

Dear casually brought up where we should go instead and i totally wanna go too! Where, do you think, when you had the rare opportunity of driving, would you go?? Make a guess...

Reaching soon! Did you get it right?? Haha, yeah, we are going to Mt Faber! Those who went b4 must know the fab view from Al Tivo where you can sip your white wine nonchalently while basking in the amazing view.

Woo hoo! I snapped this pix eagerly once we were up. I believe that's sentosa??!!! And look really closely to the right ok.. That's Mr Merlion! Hello!!!!

How does it feels to live just next to Mt Faber huh?? As I wondered this question, dear, however, has a more sicko tot. He said to me that he wanna cut me into pieces then wrapped them into black plastics bags and dumped them into the thick forest surrounding Mt Faber. He is sure my Mr Romantic!

Anyway, this is where we are gonna dine at ---->

The Jewel Box. This is where AlTiVo is housed. We are going in! Wanna know what we ate, drank and did after that? 'fraid i need to disappoint you and continue blogging the next time. I am getting tired and hungry. Look out for Part 2 of my Happy Sunday Outing soon.

Cheers!
